HOW TO PREPARE FOR SBI CLERK MAINS EXAM 2019?

According to SBI official notifications, the exam pattern of SBI Clerk 2019 exam pattern, SBI Prelims and Mains are conducted with 5 sections namely Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge. Each section has its own strengths and weaknesses and so it’s important to understand it first, before beginning for the preparation.

Strategy for Quantitative Aptitude section

It is the most logically designed section and so speed and accuracy is very essential to score well in this section. The students should know all the basics and formula related to each chapter, and practice hard to get basics right. The regular practice will increase your speed of answering. From examination point of view, the students should thoroughly prepare topics like Time and Distance, Work and Time, Data Interpretation, Percentages, Ratio and Proportions, Allegations. Time management skills are aptly required and therefore you should spend maximum 45-50 seconds on each question. If a question is too complicated or takes more time then it’s better to leave it and attempt it later.  

Strategy for reasoning section

The Reasoning section tests the reasoning abilities of the candidates and so it’s predictably tricky section. This section can be very scoring if you thoroughly prepare topics like Logical Reasoning, Syllogism, Blood Relation, Verbal Reasoning, Coding-Decoding, Puzzle etc. For solving logical reasoning questions, there are no particular formulas but you have to understand the accurate meaning of questions and try to solve them with your logical thinking. Once again, time management and accuracy are very important to score well.

Strategy for English Language section

English language is considered to be the most consequential mode of international communication worldwide. Therefore, this section has always played pivotal role in every competitive exam. In SBI Clerk exam, it’s a mixed bag of easy and complex questions where topics like Reading Comprehensions, Cloze Test, Para Jumbles, Fill in the Blanks, paragraph completion etc. This section tests student’s abilities in English grammar, reading skills and vocabulary. It is essential to read English Newspapers daily, informative magazines and websites, watch English channels to learn the linguistics and vocabulary skills to perfection. 

Strategy for General Awareness section

The aspirants are judged on the basis of their knowledge about Current Affairs, Important Banking Terms and Indian Banking & Financial Policies. It will be your good memorizing skills which will help you score well in this section. So, it’s important to use morning hours for studying this section.

Strategy for Computer Knowledge section

The candidates are supposed to read and learn about various basic computer terms and techniques. This section tests your literacy about computers and its related technologies, tips, tricks and terminology. The students must have a general impression of Operating Systems, Input- output Devices, Software hardware devices, MS Office and its various features like Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc., Networks like LAN, MAN and WAN, latest technologies in Computer related to banking and insurance industry.
